The whole thing is a Play
Sri Mahaprabu called. Asked GR what the time there was. GR answered and mentioned how the clock was put back one hour due to daylight savings time. Mahaprabu laughed at the whole thing and said: How if everyone agrees on a thing, it can become true.
GR didn’t understand the deeper significance of this until Mahaprabu said, “Similarly all have agreed that they are their body, so now that is the Truth!”
Atma has 1) Deathlessness 2) Freedom and 3) Moments (not Time since Time is not real but duration, e.g. From seed to tree has duration) So with these 3 what can it do? PLAY!! For example, 2 boys go to a beach. 2 poets go to the same beach. 2 lovers go to the same beach. Each plays differently. The boys play with the sand and water. The poets play with inspired words. The couple plays with each other’s presence, forgetting their surroundings. Each plays differently and yet each is happy.
Because Play = Happiness. Is there happiness in sand? Only Atma can make happiness out of nothing. Hence it is called Leela, a stage play. Right now it is an understanding for you. But when you realize it, you will see the whole thing is a game. There is nothing serious in this world. Atma can get happiness from even meaningless things. But what are people doing? Searching for meaning!!! (We burst out laughing).
GR: If there is nothing serious then why do you have disciples put in more and more effort?
Mahaprabu: Because you have been serious for Janmas. OK, try stopping all efforts. Stop Dhyanam for a week and enjoy. You will be overpowered by guilt and fear. In the current state of mind you can’t do it. So for this state of mind, effort is needed.
The one who takes Y, will slowly dissipate his energy X till it comes to zero.
The one who takes Z will find that his energy X multiples tremendously.
