You are living a lie

You are Not. Something else Is. In this destructible body there is an indestructible Brahman. You aren’t there, I am not there. You are living a lie. You have been living a lie for many births. And the lie only gives you suffering. Now you know this is a fact. Shouldn’t you take corrective action? What is needed is this:

You know you are living a lie. For change to happen in you, a strong DECISION is needed that I will no longer let this lie rule my life. Only then can you alter your DESTINY. In between Decision and Destiny is one more thing. Strong DETERMINATION, that no matter how many times I fail, I will not give up, I will not deviate from my DECISION. This is a basic rule of 3D’s. As you want to change your Destiny, you have to change the Decision. And to bring the Decision into action, to reach the Destiny, what is needed is Determination. In these 3, only Destiny is a single word. The other two need the word STRONG as a prefix. Strong Decision and Strong Determination.

Without doing this how will anything happen? First you must take a strong Decision. Then you must change your whole life accordingly. Then you are on the track. That is the only way. Otherwise you will be getting in and out of the track continuously and make no progress.

You are Not. Something else Is.

In this destructible body there is an indestructible Brahman. You aren’t there, I am not there. Isn’t this a wonder? All these years we have been living as though ‘I’ exist. Now you understand that you are not. And that something else is living. It is like a Mother who loves her son and has brought him up well. The son finds out one day that he is not her original son, but an adopted one. And he hears that she has a real son. Won’t he be curious to meet him? Find out all about him. Similarly, a false king who has been ruling the country for a long time finds out that the real King, a great one is there. Won’t he be curious to see him? Like that you should also yearn to find out who you really are. I am not. Something else is. I have no experience of THAT. I only have experience of me, a male, a separate person. And the experience of me is not even pleasant, not sweet, and I know it is not going to continue. So all the more shouldn’t I want to know my true nature? See how many people even after coming to the Atma Jnana path are still holding on to themselves. It takes tremendous Determination, Vairgyam.

We are not this body. We are not a separate individual. In this destructible body, there is an indestructible part that is said to be of great Arivu (Knowing, Consciousness), great Amaidhi (Peace) great Anandam (Joy, Bliss). We should experience it and change our entire life accordingly. He who tries for it is a Yogi. The benefit of being a Yogi is that he can also be a Bhogi (enjoyer). But he who is just a bhogi will remain a bhogi.

We should treat this as an adventure, as our only job. As you allow it and allow it, you will know about it. About real life. All these years even though you have obstructed it so much, it has been coming along throughout. This ahandai, ego is a thought. A thought that you are a person. Does that make you a person? No. For example, You can think you are a lion. Does that make you a lion? No. The man that you are, just because you think you are a lion will not become a lion. If you think you are a Tree, you won’t become a tree. Just because you think you are a stone, you will not become a stone. Just as this is true, the Brahman that you are, just because you think you are an individual, does not make you an individual. You are still Brahman alone. If you agree with the example I gave you, you have to accept this as well.

You are a lie. Something else is the Truth. First this has to be clearly accepted in your thought, otherwise you won’t even turn to towards Brahman. That’s why Shravanam is important. As a human you have the ability to logically analyze and understand things. While you are sleeping, something runs the body automatically; the lungs, the heart, etc. In your absence the body is still running. This means other than you, some force is activating the body. That same force wakes you up after sleep. Not you. Having understood this, who will yearn to find out about that force? He who is tired of the worldly life. There are two possibilities: Either he should be tired, or we need to create that tiredness in him. The Guru helps in both cases. As he listens to the Guru and acts accordingly, he will realize how tiring it is to live as a lie.

Only a Lie can tire you.

What will make you tired? Only a lie. The Truth will never make you tired. Only a real flower will give you a fragrance. A fake flower, a plastic flower will tire you, as there is no fragrance. And yet you keep staring at the plastic flower from far, and think you are enjoying a real flower. So the Guru keeps bringing the plastic flower close to your nose. (Laughing!!) He says, “There are real flowers that have fragrance. What you have been staring at is all plastic.” But since you are involved in the world and totally identified, even if I bring a real flower to you, you still treat it as plastic!
