OBSERVE
Become an Observer
Always observe what is going on. Become an Observer from a Participant. Till now you have taken the role of GR, son, husband, father etc. This is being a Participant. As a Participant you are involved and reactive. But none of this is real. The same daughter if she was born to another family, you would have seen her graduation event as a very uninvolved onlooker. What is the difference? Only the thought that she is mine! Mahaprabu sees all children as his. If one daughter can give so much happiness then imagine how much all of them can. So actually, happiness is more when you detach. You could do it too but you are restricting yourself to one. Or the other way, just as the other children did not particularly excite you when their name was called at the graduation, your daughter’s name should also not excite you equally.
This is a change in mode from Participant to Observer. Only a Participant can transform into an Observer. Being a Participant leads to Partition, Partiality, which is the opposite of Union. Serve your family not because they are yours but because they are Life. Serve as an Observer, not as a Participant. Even hugging a child, if you hug that child as hugging a Life, then you can hug any life equally. That loving is pure. You will become balanced. You will not incur new karmas. Surrender helps in this transformation from Participant to Observer, since you have surrendered all roles and possessions. Mahaprabu has done it, being a Grihastha!
GR: I can observe GR (referring to my ego) too that way.
Mahaprabu: First GR has to become an Observer of people and things. After getting a perfect balance then start observing GR!!
