MEDITATION
It cannot be taught
Mahaprabu never teaches meditation. Nobody can teach meditation. First understand this. It is not an act. It is a state which is happening each and every moment, always. It alone is existing. All other things are existing, based on this permanent Existence. Through everything what is flowing? Meditation is flowing. Mahaprabu can help you build the attitude in which you can come in touch with this Meditation that is always happening. Techniques will not work here. When you follow techniques you are relying on remembering it. Typewriting is a technique used to type matter onto a paper, instead of writing. You have to be in touch with that skill. If there is a gap of many years, and sit in front of the typewriter, will it be easy to type? So techniques can wane over time. Techniques are what? Shortcuts. To reduce time. So, after meditation using techniques, what will you do? You’ll need tremendous patience to stay there. Which technique will teach you patience? Patience cannot be a technique because all techniques are for those who are not patient. All kinds of techniques are used by whom? The mind!! By techniques, the mind is not destroyed. So the usual teachers say, ‘You have to stay in that meditative state for a long time!’. You will then wonder ‘What technique do I follow for that?’ One day, your brilliant mind will lead you away to another Master. You’ll even think it’s your inner voice guiding you. The culprit is doing it, except he is inside now. Whether the thief is outside or inside, he is a thief. A dog barks outside. You bring it inside the house. The same dog will bark, maybe with a slow voice. It’s still the dog! Do you say God is barking?
