Learn to see beings as minds
Was sitting next to Sri Mahaprabu as he was driving to Chennai from Tiruvannamalai. Showing a man on a bike, Mahaprabu asked me: What do you see? I replied, “A person.”
Mahaprabu: Just like you don’t see the bike moving a body, you don’t see a mind moving the bike. Learn to see every being as a mind. Throw away the body. What identifies them, drives them is the mind. You can’t directly visualize Chaitanya. You have to start here at the mind. This will lessen the attachments. Also, any mind is as capable as another. Fear is the limiter. For example, EPS (E. Palaniswami) becoming the Chief Minister of Tamilnadu seems impossible. But here he is as the CM and the state still runs! (Mahaprabu spoke more about how it is the mind that is the limiting factor).
Only if you are very sincere and seeing all as minds, you will progress to the next level. Else you’ll be stuck. For example, the Wife. Don’t see her as wife. First, you yourself aren’t there. Why have you given her the role wife? She is just another mind. One of billions. Ignore her tantrums. Your only goal in life is Jnana.
