GURU
Situations are the key
GR had written an email to Sri Mahaprabu about a feeling of stagnation and wanting to do more.
There is a lot of work that is going to happen though you. But when you do it must come from the heart, with love. Do it with love. For example the website we talked about, do it without the slightest expectation. Nee yennellam senjaa maaruvai Mahaprabu knows. (Mahaprabu knows exactly what all you need to do to mature) Guru is a situation in your life. Not a person. What makes a person mature? Not reading, not people, but situations that he goes through in order to mature. Therefore it is only situations that make a person mature. Guru = Situation for a disciple to mature. Have you ever such a definition? You might have even read that Guru creates situations but have you ever read Guru is the Situation! I am your opportunity. Since I am the one who knows the specific situation, only I can help. So what can you do? Only receive! That’s it.
So then, can you move towards maturity or can I move you?
GR: You can.
Mahaprabu: So then what should you do?
GR: Effort podaama Surrender le iru. (Stay in surrender)
Mahaprabu: That’s it! Your only effort is to keep your position, without making any effort! You can’t do anything to improve yourself. Nobody in the world can mature on their own. Situations come and make them mature. So Summa Iru is your job. It doesn’t mean staying idle. It means whatever happens don’t mind, stay in Surrender. Stay in the flow. Do not confuse yourself with all other kinds of information (referring to my email). Mahaprabu has all the information. I am your situation. I have been created for you.
This is what Bhagavan meant when he gave the example of a man who got into a train took a seat but still kept carrying his heavy bag on his head. You are doing exactly this. Mahaprabu is the train made for you. He has arrived. You already got into the train. It is a long journey (laughing!!), not 1 Km. So why are you still carrying the weight? From here the train will carry you forward.
