Nature and Surrender

Sitting under an Almond tree, Sri Mahaprabu showed us the greatness of the Supreme Power and how insignificant we are. Being in unity with Nature is very important. As the Guru is in union with nature, be in unity with the Guru, he taught us.

Glory of the Universe

During Satsang under the large almond tree, Mahaprabu pointed out how from the ground, water and nutrients are sucked upward, against gravity, and sent all the way to the tip of every leaf no matter how spread out it is. And this is happening continuously. Not only that, there is a certain size, shape, and texture to the tree which we call the Almond tree. Where is that information stored? That should have been in the seed. But the seed is so small. Where was it before the seed. It should have been in the state before the seed, which is the flower. So in the flower there is information as to what the seed should contain. But where was the information about the flower? Eventually you can trace it back to the first seed. Before that it was just information. So in this prapancham (universe), all information was there prior to materialization. Including what we call humans. Even if it (nature) wipes out all matter, all living things, because the information is there, it can still produce life.

Just realizing and reflecting on this greatest Brahmandam that enlivens billions of living things, and all matter, Panchabootha: Space, Air, Fire, Water, Earth, you will become humble, silent and surrender to the Supreme. But we don’t give any thought to all this. Our attitude is ‘Do you know who I am? See what all I have done!’. And we focus on the most trivial things. See, space is the most subtle, most limitless, all-pervasive thing we can perceive. So that which created Space and all of this universe with its living and non-living things, imagine how great and all-pervasive that Atma is. That Brahman is. Where it will take things you and I don’t know. If IT decides to remove humans, you and I will not be there to even talk about Atma Jnanam. All this talk is useless. Therefore, just keep on being in tune with nature, living in close unity with Nature (Iyarkai oda ondri vaazanum), only then certain truths will reveal themselves in you. First live in close unity with the Guru. That is Satsangam. Because he is already one with Nature. Therefore certain Truths are known to him which is why he is at peace always. So to attain peace and happiness, be in Surrender. Surrender will happen only when you realize the Brahmandam that created all this and you.

In front of that Intelligence (which is in you) your ignorance cannot win. Ignorance can never know Intelligence. So as you keep feeling that presence in daily life, that intelligence will begin to shine. And whenever ignorance comes in front of you, that intelligence will correct it. Over time the mind will stop. This practice must be done in daily life. Don’t entertain the idea that you are in an ashram and are allocating time for Dhyanam when you sit. That is a Maya too. Your mind will be quiet then and disturb you at all other times.
